    Description

You're bidding on "The Hun - His Mark - Blot It Out With Liberty Bonds", one of the iconic bond drive posters of WWI. No date on the poster, but circa 1917 per the Library of Congress. Poster features the tag line, with a large, stark, bloody red hand print above against a white background. Designed by artist J. Allen St. John, who is best known, perhaps, for his illustrations for the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs including the "Tarzan" and "John Carter of Mars" series.
Note some issues of condition - mainly around the center crease, where there is some chipping near the edges, and some scratch on the right side of the poster. Also some soil and scratch in the upper right quadrant - and some edge chipping - see photos. Poster appears to have been rolled up for a long time, so it requires careful handling to unroll and un-fold - will ship rolled up.
Not bad for age and type, though, and a scarcer to find poster in any condition in the larger, 28" x 42" format. Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
