Nahuala Narrow Table Runner..
...This exquisite weaving was hand woven on a back strap loom in the village of Nahuala, in the western highlands of Guatemala.  The designs were woven in one row at a time and not embroidered on after, there are eight.  It measures 45 inches long x 6 1/4 inches wide.
It is sure to brighten up any room.
It is 100% cotton, cold water wash and line dry is recommended.  Nahuala is a fairly large town in a part of the highlands that has stubbornly resisted the encroachments of the outside world.  The men as well as the women still wear their traditional clothing. I have visited this village.
Maya women continue weaving on back strap looms, handed down from their ancient foremothers three thousand years ago.  Maya women love to weave, to inscribe their cloth with symbols of the earth's sacredness and their culture's unique vision of the universe.
