Original 1917 Rivets are Bayonets, Drive the Home poster. The art is by John E. Sheridan.
    Description from Rawls, Page 76:
    U. S. Shipping Board Emergency Fleet. This poster shows the American vision of co-operation between soldier and machinist. The soldier, surrounded by the flag, is making the same posture as the machinist. One of the most under rated design of the entire period, eloquently showing a ship riveter at work in front of a light purple silhouette, unfurled flags and yellow background. Perfectly balanced, extraordinarily handsome.
The Emergency Fleet Corporation, organized to operate merchant ships for the U.S. government, was fast approaching the goal of launching one hundred ships a day. The American worker, using his tools as weapons, is seen standing side by side with the American soldiers in the field.
