LARGE GUATEMALAN JADEITE JADE MAYAN CARVING FOR NECKLACE
Here is a large pendant for a powerful statement necklace! This is a recreation of Mayan burial mask adorned with 2 additional faces and an intricate headdress with a large orange jadeite inlayed accent. This is made to be worn as a necklace, but you could use those holes to display it on a wall as well. This large carving is made from a green jemma jade. It is very eye catching! The back is interesting because it shows the dark reddish brown crust of the stone. The face is hollowed out a bit to reduce weight, which is 10 oz or 288g. Not too heavy for necklace. If you would like, I could add some jade beads and do a sturdy macrame necklace for this piece. Let me know!
This carving was made at our shop in Copan Ruinas, Honduras by a descendant of the Chor'ti Maya.
