    Description

Authentic WWI Victory Loan Poster “They Thought We Couldn't Fight”
    Forsythe, Victor Clyde (1885-1962)
The Victory Liberty Loan was issued in April 1919, after the close of the war. Propaganda for the loan stated the money was to be used to bring the soldiers home and take care of them upon return. Volunteers who worked to sell bonds were issued a coin made from German cannons captured at Chateau Thierry.
