1936 3 COIN SET OF SILVER PHILIPPINE COMMs SURVIVORS MANILA BAY SEA SALVAGED. Complete set, unusual as can see where the 50 centavo rested on the peso. As the Japanese advanced on the Philippines, paper currency was burned and silver coins crated and dumped in Manila Bay, however Japanese divers recovered & melted tons of coins. After the war ended US divers recovered & melted tons of coins, sport divers recovered some, but many were lost forever due to strong currents scattering the coins from deteriorated crates.

    50 Centavo = 20,000
